: informative as this one.
I will answer then in order as best that i can. You didn't say what hotel you
were using, but i assume you are staying in the Lucaya area.
1. How do I get to Mall drive from the airport? - You exit the airport and
turn left. You drive about 1/4 mile and the street intersects with a traffic
circle that connects with east mall drive. go around the circle and on to East
Mall Drive.
2. Best place to find shells and do you get to keep them? If you find shells,
you can keep them. We have never had much luck finding shells on Grand
Bahama. We have found a few nice shells on Gold Rock Beach. In reality the
best place for shells is the native craft market.
3. What is the best boat rental to use to take a boat to Lightbourne Cay and
Peterson Cay National Park? If you want to rent a boat and drive it yourself,
there is only one boat rental that I am aware of. That is Reef Tours.
However, you have to be careful around petersens Cay. there is a lot of coral
and you need to stay outside the island, pass it, and come in from the east.
You could hire someone to drive you ther, like Captain les Treco of Lil B
Charters, or you can take the kayak tour there from East End Adventures.
Lightbourn Cay is 35 miles away and too far to go by boat from Lucaua, and
there is a lot of shallow sand and reefs. You could drive to Mcleans town at
the east end and get a boat to Lightbourn Cay or Sweetings Cay from there.
4. The best place for seafood (not cajun style,I eat that here in Louisiana)-
Tough one. We catch our own fish while there, so only go out for Conch. -
Bishops at High Rock is great for Conch, and Giovanis and the marketplace is
also good. You might hire Lil B to take you fishing to catch some fresh fish
and drop you off at Petersens Cay for a while. If you want a good steak, the
Gaelic Steak at Shenanigans Irish Pub is great.
5. Streets that the grocery stores are located on. The main grocery is City
markets. there is one in Seahorse Plaza on Seahorse drive about 1 mile from
Lucaya and one downtown. There is also a Solomons on Queens Highway and a Cost
Right at the intersection of Queens Highway and East mall Drive, but they are
primarily bulk item stores.
