I stayed at Xanadu during the month of September and had an excellent stay, I
actually extended my stay by two days.
The hotel lobby and surroundings are beautiful. The hotel rooms are large and
spacious and clean. The beach is to die for, miles and miles of sand and blue
clear water.
This is a quiet and relaxed resort that is situated about 15 minutes away from
the main shopping area of Lucaya. After the first few days of hanging at the
hotel we decided to rent a car and got a coupon from the from desk.We rented
it for $40.00 per day (which is almost the cost of a cab one way). There is
hardly any traffic and the road are wide but it did take us a few minutes to
get used to driving on the left, the natives seem aware of us Americans and
were very cool about it. We went from one end of the island to the other just
taking in the locals who were the highlight of our trip.
The hotel does have moderate activities for it's guest such as fish fry,
receptions and kariokee night but we prefered to relax around the pool and
beach.
The hotel was doing some renovations on the lower floors so we were put on the
10th floor 1 bedroom suite where the view was breathtaking.
If you are looking for an action packed vacation then this resort and in fact
island is not for you. But if you want to slow down, relax and get away from
chaios this was our choice and will be it next year.
If you do nothing visit fish fry on Taino Beach, the hotel provided us a
shuttle there and this is truly something you don't want to miss. Explore and
have fun..
