Hi Jan,
Back in the 60s, my father bought as well. He recently passed away and,
though I was not able to locate any paperwork on his property, I did recently
get a bill from Lucaya Service Company Ltd for "annual service charges" on his
parcel in Lucaya Estates, Unit 17, Block 174, Lot 001.
Since I knew nothing of this, I decided to google "Lucaya Estates" and saw
your post.
At this point, I would be interested in selling (if the property has any
value).
Since you obviously have a clearer sense of what is going on (or not going
on)down there, and apparently just sold your parcel(s), can you email me the
name and contact info for your realtor. Any info on real estate fees and
settlement charges paid would also be appreciated.

: My real estate broker has around 15 or 16 people looking for land in the
L.E.
: These are locals buying for long term investment for their grandchildren.
The
: attorney I am using is very, very reasonable. This is NOT a scam. My parents
: also bought this property back in the 60s. I've been there to the property.
No
: activity in this area and doesn't look like there ever will be. Only a local
: would want it. The only scam is the maintanence fees - nothing's maintained.
: So far, they are still getting away with it although the realtors and
: government officials know it's a scam.
